1.) Heat vs Ice: one of the most common pain dilemmas. If in doubt, always ice.
2.) Keep in mind the location of your pain may not be the cause of your pain. Treating the cause is always most effective.
3.) If you know you have poor balance or are at risk for falls, keep your cell phone or cordless phone with you at all times so you have a way to contact friends/family should a fall occur.
4.) With MS, if you cannot get your body to respond to an everyday function or command like "walk", try a different command like "lift" or "up" when taking steps.
5.) You will know your body and it's capabilities better than any healthcare professional. Be persistent with any realistic goals that will improve your quality of life and don't settle for less.
