The Healthcare Professional of the Year Starfish Award, is a highly prestigious award that is won by a healthcare professional who is determined to have a significant impact on people with MS.
The award was created based on the story of a man who was walking along the beach one day throwing starfish, that had washed upon the shore. He was throwing them back into the ocean, making the life of each and every starfish he saved significant.
Each year any neurologist, physician, nurse, physical therapist, occupational therapist, family counselor or any health care professional can be nominated. This person has gone above and beyond in making a difference for people living with multiple sclerosis.
